I tried to create the shade by using multiple shading techniques. But I only got HB pencils at that time. I should use 4B or 6B pencil to enhance shades and create a gradual change of the shades.

I researched experimental drawings by Tim Knowles. A technique he employs involves introducing chance into his art production by utilizing apparatuses, mechanisms, or systems that are beyond his control. This artwork was created by trees in Borrowdale and Buttermere in the Lake District of England. By attaching sketching pens to their branches, he records their natural motion on sheets of paper. I picked a picture from the collection. My idea was trying to draw it with the real materials. So, we can touch and feel the texture of it, we can get the smell of it.

STEP 1 I start with try to draw the layout of this picture.

STEP 2 I used clay and white acrylique to build the wall behind.
STEP 3 I picked some materials and fabrics and drew the shape of the object on it. Then I cut it off. (For the black leather part, I used a piece of red leather and painted it with black acrylique.)

STEP 4 I stick the materials and fabrics on the paper.
Here we go with my creative drawing. What's interesting is that if you had a chance to see the real work, you could actually touch and feel the texture of it, also you could get the smell of it
Thank you.
