Week 6 - Wearable sculpture

Updated: Mar 12, 2023

First work

Firstly, I want you have a guess about who made this work.

It is originally kanju's work, he made a really good shape of something that I can't remember now, he shared with us and leave it aside. However, as we are crazy about making things and change sites from time to time, someone intentionally smash it to the ground and I don't know when, but someone stepped on it and it shape like this. I found it when me and kanju was cleaning the table as the class was over, he was so sad that this work turned into shape like this and want to trash it. I asked him whether I could keep this, and he said yes.

I felt like our group own kanju an apologize. So, I made it a necklace with a chain and wear it to remind me that I would tell the group this story next time I saw them.

For this work, I felt like I turned it into a conceptual art. The concept and the story behind turned out to be the most important part. I did even make its shape; I just grab it from the trash bin.
